Hey, I’m Alex. I’m a software developer based in Cyprus.

I started this project because I love reading blogs on the internet. There are countless hidden gems out there—Meduza, Substack newsletters, and even simple personal blogs hosted on GitHub. I usually discover them through Hacker News, but I’ve always struggled to preserve that knowledge over time.

More than once, I’ve saved an article to read later, only to come back a month afterward and find it gone. A personal website taken down. An article lost to time.

I built URL Download with simplicity and usability in mind. Nothing complicated, nothing fancy—just a clean, simple link that downloads a webpage to your computer and preserves it in your browser.
